Web portal and internal information system for the Ministry of Finance

The Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic is the key state body responsible for the development and implementation of state financial policy, public finance administration and tax legislation. Its task is to ensure economic stability and efficient use of state resources.

The original web presentation of the Ministry of Finance no longer corresponded to the current trends in the digital environment and the Ministry was faced with the need to modernize its outdated digital archive, while having to meet the strict legal requirements imposed on state websites. The old system did not meet accessibility standards and did not provide effective document management.

We have created an official information web portal for the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, laying the foundations for a long-standing cooperation. Our goal was not only to ensure compliance with current legal requirements for government websites, but also to create an accessible and user-friendly portal. This portal allows citizens to easily access important information such as decrees and laws, and is also adapted for people with severe physical disabilities. Our collaboration with the Ministry of Finance continues after the initial implementation has been completed; the latest redesign of the portal took place in 2023, ensuring that the website is still up to date with the latest trends and needs of citizens.

One of the key improvements was the replacement of the outdated digital archive, where documents were stored in old formats. The new solution has made document management more efficient by adhering to naming conventions and versioning. The portal now allows for better organisation and retrieval of documents, which are organised using a tagging system, thus simplifying their categorisation and accessibility.

The OpenText platform was chosen as the cornerstone of the digital ecosystem, enabling efficient management of large volumes of text and multimedia content. This system allows the editorial team to not only create but also approve new articles and documents, ensuring the high quality and accuracy of published information. The control mechanisms in the system have simplified the process of "passing" texts and ensured that all content undergoes multiple checks before publication.

The portal is designed to meet all the requirements of the public administration while providing easy navigation and a clear content structure. Our challenge was to ensure that the web portal not only meets current standards, but also delivers long-term value to both the Ministry and its users.

We continue to update and service it, including regular redesigns to maintain a modern look and functionality.

In addition to the web portal, we have created and maintain a long-term internal information channel - the intranet.
